An ongoing, interdisciplinary sound and performance project

An alter-ego, Klett Wandel, is brought into being through absurd and experimental performance rituals.

Klett Wandel emerged in 2018 from the accidental assemblage of two words in a collage and quickly developed into a cathartic alter-ego, manifested via typewritten stream-of-consciousness writing. The phrase “Klett Wandel is…” functioned as a deliberately open frame to be continuously rewritten…

Klett Wandel is a rambunculous funk tumbler.

Klett Wandel is a dirty old fish.

Klett Wandel is an over-the-counter sailboat mattress.

Klett Wandel is a penny when you ain't got none.

The project has has since expanded into live performances, sound experiments, a surreal radio series, and participatory performance installations. Across all formats, Klett Wandel acts as a permission structure for irrational, absurd, and experimental expression. A means to probe and parade unlived aspects of the self.
